Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a serious medical condition defined as having an infection from the HIV virus as well as problems with one's immune system as a result. During COVID, mental health services at CHEO have changed. Outpatient services are still being offered VIRTUALLY, i.e. via telephone, or via videoconferencing (i.e. Ontario Telemedicine Network or Zoom). Inpatient services are significantly more restricted and thus only available for the most severe psychiatric emergencies.
