The Hincks-Dellcrest Centre - Gail Appel Institute was established to respond to the challenge of improved mental health care for children, by providing advanced training, research and community consultation in the area of children's mental health.
The Institute offers post-qualification Fellowships to graduates from psychiatry, psychology, and social work. Qualified practitioners come to the Institute to receive the additional advanced training they need in order to become expert community practitioners and future leaders.
Research is an essential activity of the Institute. In tandem with The Hincks-Dellcrest Treatment Centre, our Research department's studies help build the knowledge base for the field of children's mental health. Research findings are integrated with service delivery, and are frequently published and presented at conferences.
