Hello! I am Ria and I am so happy you've taken the step to explore therapy. Since we all come from different walks of life, therapy can have different meanings for each of us. For some, it may be an opportunity to rediscover themselves and for others, it may serve as a tool for healing and personal growth. Whatever your meaning for therapy is, I welcome you wholeheartedly, and with an empathetic and non-judgemental stance.
I have been passionate about human behaviour since I was an adolescent. I am curious about our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and I am most interested in interconnecting them through a holistic approach. I strongly believe all of us have unique stories to tell, and I feel honoured to hear your story with unconditional positive regard, in a collaborative, safe, and respectful environment. I believe in you and your ability to heal and reach your life goals. Some of the modalities I use in my practice are cognitive behaviour therapy, narrative therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy.
When I am not working with clients, I like to paint, read, hike, explore nature, and spend quality time with my loved ones. As a practicum intern, I will be working under the supervision of Judy Lui (RP) and MacGyver Kou (RP).
