Please note: During the COVID pandemic, regular services and events provided by organizations may be changed or even shut down. On the other hand, many agencies are offering virtual services, making it easier to access services than before. Please check the agency's webpage, or call them directly (as websites may be out of date).

Event DescriptionThis two-day workshop is designed for front-line workers and mental health clinicians working in community agencies, Family Health Teams or Community Health Centres where there are a limited number of sessions to see clients. Participants will learn how to structure time-limited psychotherapy and counselling sessions with evidence-based interventions to make the most of client sessions.
The facilitator will cover the beginning, middle and end-phase tasks of psychotherapy/counselling, discuss common factors of psychotherapy effectiveness and review key interventions from both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to address common mental illness. The workshop will use video, small group discussion, role-play, experiential learning and didactic teaching methods.
