Information about mental health resources on this site are regularly reviewed by administrators who determine content to be published on the site based on a set of criteria listed here.

Mental health information sheets are developed in partnership with various organizations including the Mental Health Information Committee at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), members of the Department of Psychiatry at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre, and the Ottawa Hospital.

All mental health information sheets are reviewed by an editorial board that includes interdisciplinary input (e.g. psychiatry, psychology, child/youth care, social work, occupational therapy, pharmacy) and patient/family input.

2. Complementarity: Information on this website should support, and not replace, the relationship that exists between a patient/website visitor, and his/her health professional (e.g. physician).

3. Privacy: Privacy and confidentiality of personal data is respected, as per our Privacy Policy.

4. Attribution: Where appropriate, information contained on this site will be supported by clear references to source data and, where possible, have specific HTML links to that data. The date when a clinical page was last modified will be clearly displayed (e.g. at the bottom of the page).

5. Justifiability: We do not make specific claims relating to benefits or performance.

6. Transparency: The designers of this Website seek to provide information in the clearest possible manner and we provide contact information for visitors that seek further information about our website. Visitors are able to contact us via our Contact Form.

Potential for conflict from Interest

  • Lundbeck is a Danish international pharmaceutical company which develops and markets drugs for the treatment of disorders of the central nervous system. Its psychiatric medications include Abilify (aripiprazole), Trintellix (vortioxetine), and Celexa (citalopram).
  • In order to mitigate the potential of conflict of interest, all content on eMentalHealth.ca is developed without any influence from Lundbeck.
  • Specifically
    • Lundbeck provides funds via a third party, i.e. uOttawa Brain and Mind Research Institute, and not directly to  eMentalHealth.ca.
    • Lundbeck does not have contact with content developers on the team, nor do content developers on the team have contact with Lundbeck. Content development is largely provided in kind by mental health professionals, who do not receive any payment for their services from eMentalHealth.ca nor Lundbeck.
    • Content is developed through a multidisciplinary content team (which includes non-physicians such as psychologists, social workers, child/youth care workers), none of whom have any relationship to Lundbeck, which further mitigates any potential influence.

8. Advertising policy: We do not have advertising on our Website.
