Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre (The Royal)
Hospital that specializes in wide range of mental health services including:
* inpatient and outpatient services for youth and adults
* specialized mental health programs such as mood and anxiety disorders program, schizophrenia program, geriatric psychiatry (mental health for older adults), substance abuse and concurrent disorders program, Operational Stress Injury Clinic, etc. (see a full list at www.theroyal.ca)
* psychiatric rehabilitation.

The Royal and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) have partnered to form the Children and Youth – Specialized Psychiatric and Mental Health Services program (CY-SPMHS). Admittance to this program requires a doctor's referral. To refer to this program, contact central Intake (at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario) at 613-737-7600, ext. 2360.

All adult programs at The Royal, with the exception of the Substance Abuse Program require a doctor's referral. Refer to The Royal's website (www.theroyal.ca) for referral processes for each program.

The Addictions Program at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre (ROMHC) offers various services for treating addiction, including assessment, as well as outpatient, inpatient and residential treatment programs for adults (over age 16).

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
The Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) Program is provided by the Youth Program at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.

DBT is provided by specially trained clinicians, combining behavioural science, dialectical philosophy and zen practice.

Dual Diagnosis Consultation Outreach Team (DDCOT), Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre
The Dual Diagnosis Consultation Outreach Team (DDCOT) is a multidisciplinary team of the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre (ROMHC), located within a specialty psychiatric health care group that serves the mental and physical health needs of dual diagnosed clients within the Eastern Ontario region of Canada. Services on the team include nursing, occupational therapy, psychiatry, psychology, social work, and speech and language pathology. Resources are limited to consultation, as there are insufficient personnel to provide ongoing follow-up.

Family Court Clinic
The clinic helps service the courts in addressing the best interests of children, and offers comprehensive court-related assessments for young offenders, child welfare matters, and custody and access disputes. Assessment process generally involves psychiatric, psychological and social work components. Home visits may be included as well. Information from other involved professionals such as agencies, doctors, counsellors, schools may also be considered. Methods of Referral: by court order or request of lawyers, which should be made in writing to the Director. Phone enquiries are welcomed.

Integrated Forensic Program (IFP)
Provides specialized interdisciplinary assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and community reintegration to adults with severe psychiatric illness who have come into conflict with the criminal justice system.  The program operates out of two sites, serving both the Champlain and Southeastern counties of Eastern Ontario.
 
Services under the IFP include:

* Violence prevention;
* Court diversion;
* Pre-trial assessment and treatment;
* Inpatient services;
* Mental health court; and
* Outpatient and consultation services.

The inpatients we serve are adults (18 years +) who may be or have been found unfit to stand trial as well as adults who may be or have been found not criminally responsible (NCR) by the judicial system on account of mental illness.
 
Varying levels of security, supervision and privileges are provided within a structured treatment environment that creates a therapeutic milieu of supportive care that promotes safe reintegration into the community.
 
The IFP has three separate components:

Forensic Services - Southeast Region,
Forensic Services - Champlain Region, and
Secure Treatment Unit - Brockville.

Youth Psychiatry Program
The Youth Psychiatry Program at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre (ROMHC) offers mental health services for youth aged 16-18.

Programs include:
* Youth Partial Hospitalization Unit (YPHU), Day Treatment, is a day treatment program for youth aged 12-19, located at Brookfield High School on 824 Brookfield Drive, Ottawa.
* Youth Partial Hospitalization Unit (YPHU), Evening Program, which is an evening treatment program for youth aged 12-19 located at the main Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre site.
* Youth Residential Program, which is an inpatient psychiatric program for youth aged 15-19.

Referral procedure: physicians can contact CHEO centralized intake at 613-737-2496 or toll free at 1-866-737-2496 to make a referral. If you are a youth or family member, speak to your doctor about a referral.
