A Post Psychiatric Leisure Exerience (APPLE)
Non-profit organization run by and for people who have experienced mental health challenges. We focus on providing leisure and recreational opportunities with the goal of helping consumer-survivors make new friends and have fun. Founded in 1985, APPLE is Ottawa's oldest consumer-survivor initiative.

APPLE strives to enhance the quality of life of our members by offering mutual support at our drop-ins, and affordable recreational and cultural activities both at APPLE and in the community. We strive to offer a warm and safe atmosphere for our members, all of whom have emotional or psychiatric challenges. APPLE tries to prevent hospitalization through encouraging membership participation, including volunteer work and employment, in the operations of our organization.
