Nanny Angel Network (NAN)
NAN provides free Child Life Informed support for children enduring a parental cancer journey and potential death. Children engage with a specially trained volunteer Nanny Angel once a week for 4 hours in their own home so they can share their anxiety, frustration and anger in a safe and age appropriate way. This support is provided for one full year following the death of a parent. Additional virtual programs and meal support is also provided. Our mission is to lessen the impact of a parental cancer on children. We believe that no child should have to endure a parental cancer journey or death without support and knowledge. This intervention will break the cycle of unresolved grief which can lead to psycho-social and mental health issues if not addressed.
