Event Description

PATH Employment Services, a Hamilton service dedicated to advancing the employment interests of people with disabilities—was recently approved by the federal government to raise people’s awareness about the Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP). The RDSP is a savings plan to help individuals with disabilities, parents and others save for the long-term financial security of a person who is eligible for the disability tax credit.

Brad Spencer, PATH’s Executive Director commented “Too many eligible people with disabilities are unaware of this program and unaware that the federal government contributes to these savings plans with grants and bonds.”

RDSP can help people with disabilities save for the future. Earnings accumulate tax-free until money is taken out. Parents or guardians may open an RDSP for a child with a disability.

PATH Employment Services will be hosting free information sessions about the Registered Disability Savings plan in Hamilton, Burlington, and Kitchener. The Hamilton Sessions will be on Wednesday May 28th 2014 at PATH Employment Services—31 King Street East. To register, or for more information please contact Lisa Lehmann, Business Development Manager at PATH Employment Services, at 905-528-6611 ext. 245 or at [email protected]
