Stroke Survivors Association of Ottawa (SSA)
Not-for-profit charitable non-government organization that provides assistance, advice, education, advocacy and community partnerships for the improvement of life for stroke survivors and their families. Stroke Survivors Association of Ottawa provides a range of community supports from health, social, education programs including the CONNECTIONS community support program that provides peer to peer support and assistance in stroke community re-engagement. SSA fulfills the last link of the stroke continuum; providing post-stroke community support and navigation for survivors and care partners. With the support of our many partners, SSA provides survivors and caregivers with hope, education, navigation and supports to maximize their potential. Our Association was founded by stroke survivors and stroke caregivers who discovered the need for post-treatment programs and services.
