Safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS Ages 6 to 12 yrs at both units, Monday to Friday from 2:45 pm- 5:45 pm with a snack, homework club, crafts, computers, games and gym SPECIAL EVENT EVENINGS At both units, Saturday Programs, Holiday Programs, funswims, teen programs AQUATICS PROGRAMS Red Cross Aqua Quest swimming levels, private and semi private lessons, lifesaving programs, aquafitness, stroke improvement, with public swims on Saturday HANSEL AND GRETEL NURSERY SCHOOL Toddlers aged 2.5 to 5 years old am and pm 1/2 day groups * arts, crafts, phonics program, computer lab, swimming lessons, field trips and outdoor play COMMUNITY SERVICE ORDER (CSO) PROGRAM Places clients (young offenders under the age of 16yrs) with non profit or tax supported agencies and organizations within the the community to provide community service work * clients are given a specified number of hours by the courts and must complete their hours within a given period * clients work without pay for the benefit of the community, society is paid for the damage caused through crime DURHAM YOUTH JUSTICE COMMITTEE (YJC): An alternative to the court system, for young people 12 to 17yrs who have been accused of minor non violent offences * a panel of trained community members volunteering to work with young offenders, their families, victims, the legal system and the community find appropriate, meaningful consequences for the young person
