Georgianwood Concurrent Disorders Program
Georgianwood is a 3-month residential, best-practices concurrent disorders program that is part of the Tertiary Care Division of Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care. Georgianwood is a 12-bed facility that provides cognitive-behavioural treatment for people with both a substance use disorder and a serious mental illness (i.e., schizophrenia, major depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD etc). The program focuses on teaching people new skills to better manage their addiction and mental illness and includes components such as CBT, psychoeducation, skills acquisition, and self-help groups. Georgianwood also offers pre-engagement and aftercare via its community outreach team as well as support to family members and stakeholders.
