The Mount Herbert Provincial Addictions Treatment Facility is one of the services funded by the PEI Dept. of Health.
 
The Provincial Inpatient Addictions Facility is comprised of a 25-bed detoxification unit for clients in need of alcohol and other drug withdrawal management services. It also offers support and safety for clients with severe gambling addiction problems or those with a severe relapse dynamic. The detox units also have 2 beds for short term stabilization of young people with significant substance abuse problems. The 16-bed residential rehabilitation program is a 21-day program offered to those who would not be able to go through a 21-day outpatient rehab program (out of Province clients and those with severe relapsing addictions). A four-week women specific addiction treatment program is available to women living on Prince Edward Island. Although the program is offered as an inpatient program at the Provincial Addictions Facility, it can also be taken to the eastern and western health regions as an outpatient program as the need arises. A three-week inpatient gambling addiction treatment program can also be taken to the eastern and western regions as an outpatient program.
